What to do when COVID-19 impacts your wedding
We know there's nothing more heartbreaking than planning the perfect day, only to have it ruined. So many couples are having to make last minute changes to save their weddings. With no end in sight, you may be unsure of how you should respond when COVID-19 changes your wedding plans. The team at Vintage Oaks Farm has put together three handy tips to help ease your mind during this time:
1. Postpone, don't cancel!
Whatever you do, don't feel like you are cancelling your wedding! A majority of vendors and venues understand that this is an unforeseeable circumstance and will be willing to work with you to reschedule your big day. The wedding community has come together to make sure that our brides and grooms are still able to celebrate love, even if it may be a little later than originally planned. If you have a date that's coming up and you haven't made the call to postpone yet - get in touch with your vendors! See what you can do to make things work.
2. Plan, plan, plan!
If you have a fall wedding planned, or even a 2021 wedding, use this extra time at home to work on the details of your big day. If you're recently engaged, pick a date for engagement photos, even if it isn't until fall - your photographer will thank you! Figure out details like bridal party gifts or what you want your centerpieces to look like. Using your extra time now will save you lots of stress closer to your wedding date.
3. Get ready to celebrate!
We all know that this is a difficult time for everyone. Once we've gotten through the worst of the virus outbreak, everyone will be looking for something to celebrate. What better to celebrate than true love? Your friends and family are going to show up and love you in ways that you cannot even imagine! Things are hard now, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel!
